Alex Katz wing at Colby College Art Museum

The Special Events Committee has planned an outing to Colby College Museum of Art in Waterville on Tuesday, April 17th, 2018. This highly regarded museum has an extensive collection of American art and features over 400 works by the well-known artist Alex Katz (who summers in Searsmont, Maine) as well as a large collection of the works of John Marin, noted for his brilliant canvases of the Maine coast. A guided tour will be available to these major exhibits. Many may want to view the special exhibition of sports photography by Walter Iooss, which is also currently on display.

Following the morning gallery visit we will meet at 12:30 for lunch at Riverside Market and Cafe in Oakland (about 7 minutes from the museum).

Carpooling will be available from the Hutchinson Center. We will meet at the lower parking lot at 8:30 am. We will re-group in the museum lobby at 10:00 am. There is no fee for the museum entrance and lunch prices range from $10 to $20.
